Got some inspiration partly from this page so it is only fair that I share my project. I would like to preface these photos by say I'm not one to take on DIY projects and I'm not particularly mechanically inclined :)

My motivation for this project was that I absolutely hate the feeling of wet carpet when out on the lake. Oh and I should add that this was going to be a simple flooring project that turned into a lot more time and money spent on thing like a brand new excessive sounds system with and a little bit of upholstery work to get rid of imperfections. Go figure!

Most of my time was spent fighting the factory flooring to remove the glue, sanding, and trying different methods to level out low spots. I ended up using epoxy resin and then multiple coats of primer and paint to get the floor as smooth as possible. I did end up having to build a custom hatch being that the factory frame and lid would not work due to the large gaps exposed upon removing the carpet.

    Enjoy!

    ^^^^ best quote ever.

Great job on this.  You've provided even more inspiration.   Looks like a new boat with that in there.  Time well spent.   I'll probably have questions once I finally get started on mine!!

Really nicely done, looks like  a totally different boat.
Really well done on the addition of the aluminum panels on each side of the floor to clean up those lines for the Gatorstep.
Our of curiosity what did the Gatorstep set you back for the custom layout?

Thanks, I would suggest starting now - my mistake was waiting too long into the spring time to get my templating started which caused me to deal with GatorStep at their peak season this cut into the boating season by the time we completed the back and forth of the approval process.

I was really surprised how many spots of the floor were uneven, the hatch area in particular! The thin trim pieces were the only way to clean up the edges and not create a bump you would feel.

The GatorStep was right around $950.

That's about what i expected, not terrible.

Yeah the tige floors of the era are bad. Mine was the same. I just cleaned it up and dumped a couple gallons of epoxy over the whole thing to get it nice and level.

Looks amazing!  You did great for someone "not particularly mechanically inclined."   What did you paint the floor with?

I ending up using Interlux Brightside primer and paint, another option that was recommended to me by GatorStep was AWLGrip.

I see you used Flex Seal Liquid for the irregular floor under the helm, how well did that work?  I'm assuming it's pretty much self leveling?  I have the same kinda thing going on in my 2001 2100v.  I'm doing Deckadence, so Its not as important to get it smooth and level but I want to take the dip out.

Did you use soft white vinyl for the vertical trim?

I have a 24ve the same era and looks identical inside but bigger. What did you use to trim around that gap between the floor and bulkhead? Looks great!

Thanks. I used 24ga stainless steel trim that I had made and secured it with glue and undercut hardware.

I did initially, but it did not work well at all! So I stripped it and used epoxy, it was more work, but the the right way to level it out.

Hey man couple questions. One, what did you paint on the floor so that it made it white in the very beginning? Two, did you scrape all the glue off or did you just paint over it with whatever the white paint is? Three, what kind of epoxy did you use underneath the steering wheel by your feet? I need to level out the same spot there. Four, how did you go about leveling out the floor where the metal pieces are screwed down into the floor for the floor hatch and how'd you get the hatch level so there isn't a noticeable drop from the floor to the hatch area? I'm currently attempting this on my 2004 21i Tige direct drive. I'd really appreciate the help and answers!!
