Stock fiberglass swim platform became waterlogged. Cost to repair at fiberglass shop around $2,500 to $3K. Decided to try an amateur HDPE build. Used original brackets. Raised it a couple inches with some stainless 2X3. Other materials:
Vycom Seaboard HDPE 1" from local plastics distributor - $250
Stainless nuts, bolts, washers, sheet metal screws, etc. - $40
Oceanbroad Evo foam board flooring with 3M adhesive - $80
3M 90 Spray adhesive - $15
Used a jigsaw for the shape, palm router to round the edges on top and bottom. Sprayed HDPE with adhesive before applying foam. Cut foam after applying to HDPE with Razor blade, but there's probably a better way to do it. Stainless steel sheet metal screws, washers, and lock washers to attach brackets. Brackets are 5' apart and HDPE does flex/bow. Plan to add aluminum angle across the width to support with stainless sheet metal screws.
Will update how it held up after first trip out to the lake.
