Because of the PowerWedge install, I can't build a true FAE right now, but we knew we needed to do something. I roughly modeled my exhaust tips after Malibu when they released the PWII prior to their surf pipe.
Material List:
(2) 4" to 3" Rubber reducers
(2) 3" street 45° PVC elbow
(2) 4" long piece of 3" PVC
Rubber reducer is screwed and hose clamped to the original flapper outlets on boat. Pulled flappers all the way open and cleared the reducer.
Glued the the 4" piece of PVC into Elbow to give the turn down a bit of length.
Sprayed some black chrome on the PVC (forgot the insides, will fix over winter)
Slid the turn downs into the reducer and cranked the hose clamp tight. Over the winter I'll add some more screws to the reducer, but was too tough when sitting on the lift.
Tips held on with tubing and surfing all weekend. Noticeably better when surfing. Even the wife commented that it was better when hanging out by back of the boat.
On the fence if I'll try the 90° elbows I bought or just leave it.
