4,000 Staples Later #Wake For Life

    • Year: 2000 Brand: Moomba Model / Trim: Kambrea Cost: $0-$249 DIY or Professional Install: I installed it / created it

778730D9-F898-4E13-81DB-664B3E7DA0C4.heicNew to the group! Thought I would share some of the adventure!

We are starting a youth mission with an old boat 2000 Moomba Kambrea($3,100). Our mission will be targeting the youth in our area, mostly high school boys. Walking and riding side by side making disciples, through wake-sports. The boat needed a total renovation inside and out, but she's has good bones. We are spending most of our budget on getting the boat running(another $3,064 on batteries, alternator, impeller, fuel pump, fuel filter, raw water intake and filter, bilge pump, navigation lights, steering cable) and all new interior($644).

We have had an outpour of donations!
GatorStep is stepping up and providing all new floors and decking!  Ben Greenwood donated 4 boards and two pair of bindings. Liquid Force is donating USCG vest, Jabsco pump for ballast, WakeMakers for all fittings and plumbing, Roswell Marine is donating tower racks, speakers and amps.

We have a very low budget and need a sick wrap, speed control system, wake surf boards, and a Marine head unit.   It's a blessing to our Church and soon to our community!

Please don't judge to much, We didn't have 4k to spend on new interior!
We spent a little over $644 in supplies.
    Vinyl $280
    Staples $44
    Hardware $60
    PVC $140
Foam (should have cost $900) but I picked up a used mattress and repurposed it! Still had to buy two pieces $120

Thanks so much for reading, Have a blessed day!

You're doing great work! Keep it going.  My cousin hosts a youth group from a church about 40 miles away at his lake house the first weekend in August every year.  My kids and I have helped with the last 5 years or so. Last year we had 60 kids. It's truly amazing what it means to them. Most have never been on the lake before...in spite of living pretty close to one.  Bless you!

    Very cool man!
A great way to get involved and help out some kids while having a good time to boot!
I hope you're getting them involved in the build process as well? Nothing quite quite as valuable as learning skills in my opinion

Thanks for the encouragement guys! Rugger thanks for the photo advice. Sonic the youth are very involved in helping but I couldn't trust any of them with a stapler! lol

Need other advice, so the whole boat is getting reno, engine work, hull, stereo, tower and so fourth. Should I create a post for each section or clump it all together in one post?

If it's a finished project in the Completed Projects section, then it should be by category.   If it's a general work in progress post, then it belongs in shop talk and either way works fine.  Thanks!
