Great idea and we can start a topic on ballast flow tests in Shop Talk / ballast section. I planned on taking a few before and after flow measurements as well when I update my ballast and would love to hear more about your findings.
For now, let's keep this this thread open for more questions about this ballast bag port project. Thanks again, Cowwboy for the post. I might have more questions if I fix those older bags with a broken fitting.

1 1/8" vs 3/4" is substantial in hydraulics. But yes, these aren't high GPM pumps.
But....15-30 seconds is a long time to wait when it's your turn to go first. haha

Nice project... I have a few bags that lost their ports (Wakemakers replaced them), so maybe I can salvage them like this.
Should be a big improvement with less friction loss / restriction on the new port!
Have you tested it yet with it full of water?

I'll never change my mind on this: it's always cooler to see an old boat fixed up with modern technology, especially huge upgrades. Awesome

Love those Rev 10s. Didn't even know there was an alternate syn dx2.3HP amp until now. Thanks for sharing.

I’ll be that makes life easier! Nice
-
haha @formulaben you are picky! Love it.
@LIVE2WAKE My wife saw this project and now wants new interior in our 07. Thanks a lot

The floor makes that boat look 10 years newer at least! Nice design and installation on that.
-
Yup I know what a stuffed compartment looks like. Lol we always take people and always stuff that thing to the max.
Great project and great install!

I obviously love modifications and outsidethe box thinking. Appreciate you sharing this; looks great!
I’m probably the least knowledgeable stereo guy on the site... what happens when the amps get too hot? Do they get distorted or just fail quicker? I’m in California and my cabinet constantly gets crammed with gear up to the amps. I thought about putting a separated plate over them or something.

Wow that is beautiful. Like you said, it’s a brand new boat! Seeing this post is gonna cause a lot of people to spend money!!
Was the Seadek cut from their templates? Or did you have to customize it? Love the blue contrast. Thanks for sharing.

yes, I think the hpde is going to be my best bet. As for actuators are you guys just using the lenco 102s with the 4.25 inch throw? Also as far as wiring goes, how are you running the switches? thanks again
Yes most commonly. Check some of the threads in shop talk, there are a few overviews and a ton of answers for general questions as well. There’s a faster lenco option you’ll want to get. In fact, if you build some, feel free to start a thread in shop talk for projects in progress and you’ll get help along the way. Great group of guys here to help each other

Tell me if i'm crazy, but I feel like I can make this work for around 600 bucks. thanks
Yes if you use hdpe like macdaddy said. Fiberglass and gel coat cost more in both material cost and definitely time. I ran black hpde (king starboard) most of last summer until I finished the fiberglass ones. Honestly if you have black or white gates you’re in luck. I think hdpe still looks good when down right. Obviously no performance difference
-
That looks awesome @Macdaddy. Really looks factory or even better. Love the you took the time to cover the screw heads as well. Those little details are a great investment.
Yup, fiberglass labor is expensive. If it makes you feel better.... I did mine myself and it was a PAIN in the ass and took 10x longer than I though. If you saw my build thread progress in shop talk I had many problems during the process. Included all the problems I could so the next guy would hopefully avoid them.
Again, nice job and thanks for posting it on Wake Garage.

I removed my brackets as well. Yes you should be able to pull back the carpet to access from the inside. Think they were 1/2” fine thread bolts. Can then use 3m adhesive spray or something similar to make it stick.
Post your modified brackets please! That’s a common problem.

I might be copying you on this. We usually only bring one wakeboard, so thought about swapping one of the combo racks for duals as well. How would you make it look stock? I guess I don't see much difference so I don't see a problem. Looks good! Price is right. Only part I don't see is the hook for the bungee. Thanks for sharing.

Awesome work. That's a big upgrade.
The decals look great. Is the stainless look part of the decal, or is the blue form a stencil. Looks awesome either way. Thanks for sharing
Also really like that you have all your main functions.... surf switch, sub, tower and side ballast, all in one spot. Is that also one sticker you had made?
-
Thanks! I used the lenco 102s with 4.25” stroke. Mine needed that longer throw. Most gates use that length. If you run a controller you can set it to throw partway if needed... but just make sure the gate can open all the way without damage in case something went wrong with controller. I just made mine all the way open and all the way closed.
And make sure you post your progress in shop talk so the guys can help etc!

Clean install. Great idea.

FYI, Direct Mat now offers a 1/2" vinyl loop matting carpet that essentially matches the Deckadence thickness, minus the anti-slip matting that's added to the bottom.
Good find. I'll add them to the resources page

Sweet project. Thanks for posting. Ballast racks/mounts are on my list for this spring.... which apparently is almost here.
Thanks for the good ideas. -
Wow, nice detail on this project. Thanks for sharing.
That is slick.

I hear people asking how to make a swim platform all the time. You just showed a relatively easy way. Thanks for posting!

Nice job, that's cool. Where did you learn to make that adjustment? Seems simple

Love that extra detail.... where did you get those made?
