I was really surprised how many spots of the floor were uneven, the hatch area in particular! The thin trim pieces were the only way to clean up the edges and not create a bump you would feel.

The GatorStep was right around $950.

Did you use soft white vinyl for the vertical trim?

  2. Great idea! Finally got all the stuff to do my ballast install and returning to this project. My mastercraft has two removable carpet covered HDPE type panels that meet halfway to cover the transom.

Did your install remove those to fit the pumps?

Also did your mounting screws go through the transom to the exterior?

Could you post pictures of your install from a overhead view showing the engine compartment and from the transom exterior and anything else you think would be helpful?

  3. Nice. I use these they are thicker. THE COMFY DREAM | Oversized Light Microfiber Wearable Blanket, One Size Fits All, Shark Tank

But this would probably be even warmer. Bedsure Grey Wearable Blanket - Standard Long Blanket Sweatshirt with Soft Sherpa Fleece - Deep Front Pockets - Wearable Blanket for Adult Women and Men, 58 x 34 inches, Grey https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B08CXSVXR1/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabc_9LzUFb1THK5HJ

  4. You are Very persistent! Lots of skills brought to bear for your project. How’s the spaghetti floor feel underfoot?  Sailrite has videos showing how to create snap in vinyl floor using rivet style tools if you ever decide to fixate it. i’ve been thinking about ripping up the carpet as well. thanks for the write up.

  5. Thanks SonicJK —All if that is what I was hoping to hear from someone who is really putting the system through it’s paces. Looks like I’ll be adding tabs to the boat. I’ve got some pretty short vertical areas of transom to work with though. Wanted to coordinate the timing of my projects so Center tab before or in tandem with exhaust makes the most sense.

Did you notice any handling difference while slow speed maneuvering? Just curious with how far it hung down below the hull. I bought a merge pipe to use instead of tying the two 90°s together

What is the merge pipe and what will it do?

My (and all) Tige has a center plate with an actuator. It make a large difference for getting on plane quickly when deployed and is useful to fine tune the wake as well.

What does the Center tab do for  your wake in different scenarios? Speeds? Water sports?

  8. For your down exhaust: Could you use 45 degree angled to bypass brackets diagonally? Also you could by some silver shiny spray paint to give it that metal look.

Besides bringing the bow down and bringing the boat on plane faster Does your center plate also lessen your wake? What have you noticed? Not sure what you use your boat for and curious what you noticed before and after the plate. Ive thought about installing a center tab/plate that raises and lowers by switch so lessen my wake for waterskiing when not surfing or wboarding
