  1. @waveryder you could try one of these:

    MARINEPARTSSOURCE.COM

Keep your exhaust system in top shape with quality marine exhaust hose and tubing. Shop big brands like Shields. Free shipping on orders...

i used that Vetus hose for my exhaust conversion and it's definitely more flexible than a typical reinforced exhaust hose.  here's a pic of what centurion is replacing the original hoses that came with their stinger exhaust, because those originals didn't hold up well:

I can't find this one online but perhaps the Vetus hose would work for you.

  2. @ryguy1188 check the project parts list here:

I have had several people ask for information and/or a parts list of some kind for DIY Goose Slappers so I have finally gathered up some...

i got my HDPE from US Plastics, Item # 46466 (3/4" x 12" x 24" Black Seaboard® UV Stabilized HDPE Sheet) because they were the cheapest at the time.  keep in mind you'll need 2 of this size, and if you order a sheet double the size it may cost more in shipping which is why i went with the 12x24".  then you just need someone to cut the template for you, or you can DIY.

i'd also suggest making sure your hinges are flush-mount so that when the hinge is cycling the mount is the only thing mating against the hull, if that makes sense.  mine aren't flush-mount as i didn't know there were different styles, so my hinge pushes against the hull and there's a slight gap on the mating surface.  it's still been fine that way for 3 years but worth mentioning if you're starting from scratch.

  3. someone finally tried it!  and the dog approves in one of the first pics :D

from past research and referencing your second test, those tabs might have to retract more to ensure they're not dirtying the lip on the non-surf side.  i bet if you raise your platform a couple inches AND retract the tabs all the way up, it will look much better.

  4. interesting design on that with the lips turned up.  for what it's worth, if you're surfing with that boat you may need the "up" position to be slightly higher.  i've noticed on my centurion that for surfing and wakeboarding, the wave is definitely better with the stock trim tab all the way up.

  5. with mine, the issue was the drag of the water on the downpipe, so a horizontal pull.  once i secured the exhaust better horizontally with screws to the exhaust outlets i had no issues.  it looks like you have rivets securing the pipes to your outlets, so that should be effective; if you give a good tug on both of those without the vertical support do they feel really secure?  otherwise, all that vertical support will do is rotate in an upward arc as the exhaust comes off.  if you put one more pin through the vertical support at the top though, that will keep it from being able to rotate outward, if that makes sense?

  6. nice, have you had it on the water yet?  i had issues the first couple times around with not having horizontal support and only vertical support.  vertically it still allows a little movement and my hoses popped off on a hard throttle up in the water.
