i heated the pipe pipe with a heat gun and clamped it in to shape. Once it cooled off I cut a 45* on the end

 

 

*****edit: I added some rivets through the hose clamps for good measure. But this design worked, stayed on and there was significantly less spray with the shapes pipe then before. 

Do you have any pictures of your wake when cruising at 15_18mph?

I agree with @S2X, seems like you could have brought it straight out and down vs up and then back down.  But the angles are hard to tell if that'd clear those turnbuckles.   That plastic may never need replacing... but my A.D.D. would have me searching for mandrel stainless pieces that could be welded into a Y.     

I frickin' love that you made this BTW.  It so hits the point of this website!    Make your boat better.   And I'm a huge fan of getting rid of exhaust.    

I was actually talking about the plate. But yes it would be nice to have a better looking more streamline design. But my boat sits in the water all summer so looks are not as important to me. I really appreciate the feedback. 

So after using it all summer i was pretty impressed. Did the job well. I am thinking about cutting the wings on each side at a 45 instead of what they are now. Any feedback would be great

I just got a sample of the agenda in if i can get the same stuff off ebay i would like to save some money. I uses the agenda softer heavy brushed and adter 3 seasons it needs replaced and has turned hard in spots. 

Can you please tell me where you got the piece that doesn't have any of the fake teak lines?

Hindsight i probably could have. It would have been out too far to get any angel to the down pipe. The braces hit if it turns too soon. 

Could you just cut yours where needed and just re fiberglass the edges where the gates will go? 

Lake is still frozen but soon.

Centurion crew. Had some talk of it. Basic but very effective. 

Great job. I think malibu should care as much about the finish work as you do. All of the surfgates ive seen look homemade. 

What is the verdict? did you keep the wings how do you like it after running it a while
