This is a great build! I have been racking my brain on how to handle the battery/wiring issue in my boat. I have a similar storage area and also just picked up 3 new AGMs. I always thought that if that spot was deeper, it would be perfect for batteries...you just opened my eyes to the doing the same thing as you did. I will post pics of my build as well. Thanks for posting your project!
